Raped at 8 and left for dead, a victim raises her voice - CNN.com
This story is about a child;at 8 years old, was taken from her bedroom by a stranger and was kidnapped, raped outside her gradeschool and throat was slashed ear to ear to die. She lived for 20 years and now wants to come forth to let everybody know that she is a survivor and that she wants the assailant to know they will catch her. There is a team that is allowing old cases such as this one to be retested as far as DNA testing and being brung to justice. I think this is absolutely one of the most phenomonal stories I have read online. I don't like watching the news as the stories are so depressing. This one just blows everything out of the water.
I read this story and my heart went out to her reading about her rape and being left to die, not just as a parent but a fellow survivor. Life is crazy sometimes with the mixed blessings in everyday life, as I have stated before. This is just to me one of those mixed blessings. We are all innocent in life and when traumas happen to us it always changes us for better or worse. She suffered an ordeal I would never think that a child should have to go thru let alone have to deal with in pain and suffering day to day. She pulled thru with strenths that shape up in life and form us to either be strong or weak and break to a number of other ordeals we can or can't live with and supercede into drugs or other abuses. She decided to take life by the horns and pretty much to me by reading grew up before her time should have been pushed to. But in the end, She wasnts to put her closure to rest more than likely to live a normal life and be herself and start anew.
I commend her feelings and I support her brave story telling as it takes a strong person in admiration of life to present their pain and suffering to capture and bring to justice this loose end evil. God has a purpose for all of us and I believe if we look below surface deep we all look alike except the evil that lurks around the corner for the next violent act but rest assured, they will catch you and put you away eventually. No matter what the cost and or what the pain we are all strong inside its what brings it about!

Police: TV contestant killed actress girlfriend - MyEMBARQ™
Police: TV contestant killed actress girlfriend - MyEMBARQ™
A man sworn to God, on this earth a preacher, killed a women of his life after torturing her to death. The funny thing is when she went unconscious, he called paramedics. How can this happen ? A man of God? He has remorse and said he deserves hell for what he has done. He was on a bachelor show years ago but didn't win. She knew nothing of the show or what he has done or where he had been. He has a couple of religious degrees and still did this.
I felt disgust for this man, a woman, a person, a live human being no matter how livid or upset a person gets they should never take it out on an inferior sex. what could she have possibly done to push him this far? How and why would people want to hurt another? My life I was always taught old school and the folden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. What happened to the standards of yesterday? You know maybe others values are a bit different but that is what makes up diverse but really I think it should always come back to what and how we are raised has alot to deal with who we are and what we become in this world. There are medications for imbalances and changes are altered in todays science, to aide and assist with our physical reasons. People just need to learn self-control and no when to walk away instead of getting heated and taking it out on them.
The reason that I got so infuriated at this man as I read, I see a man of God or so he says, using to help him, when all it does is make him look like an ass and that also makes the man of God look bad in live's eyes. I have been there mentally abused and those scars stay around as a lesson because a body heals but a mind remembers. I looked beyond the surface area of what was in front of me and found what I was destined to in this life where this woman wasn't even given the chance and was taken away way to young and another just example that life is disposeable for one reason or another.

Police look for man whose wife, 5 children found killed - CNN.com
Police look for man whose wife, 5 children found killed - CNN.com
This story is truly a parents nightmare. This man is being sought for the deaths of his 5 children and wife. They are looking for him in Haiti, as his car was found at eh airport. Police were calle dto the house preeviously a number of times for domestic disturbances but he was never arrested or taken in. Where is the line drawn for violence, and when people just take things into their own hands and just finish off anything they don't want in their current life and just start over because it suits him when he wants it to? She never had a chance for survival and neither did the kids. When police are called to a scenen they are suppose to take into effect the worst situation or so I thought, that was what I was taught as a Military Police officer in domestic dispute on posts cases. Nobody took it seriously and now 6 lives are gone. Another case that it happens right under out nose and we turn our head and look away or walk away in this case.
When I read this story I just couldn't believe it, Someone over and over was called to the house for the protection and safety of others and they ignored the fact of a violent person. And then more than likely saw them as a nuisance and treated them as if they in this case to me didn't matter. This is not your typical "The boy who cried wolf story," this is another story. My stomach turned we are all given a chance in life to live our lives the way we want to and this is called the American Dream in this country and this family wasn't even given the opportunity or the chance. Five kids slaughtered by the one person who helped bring them into this existence and he walks away, or in this case flies away. I hope they find this Damas, and in someways I wish there wasn't the justice system and we could go back to the ways before government as it is to good for his demise.
I guess the reason why I feel this resentful of this man is because I almost lost my son under health reasons years ago and he decides that he doesn't need these kids. He was truly given a blessing and he completely took it for granted and decided that he didnt need the kids and wife and took care of them under his own ways of torture. This goes to show us that there is pure evil in this world even out of the innocent and there are mixed blessings in everday life. Where they are in this story I will never know but I also know he needs to be caught before it happens again.

Film heartthrob Patrick Swayze dies of cancer at 57 - CNN.com
This man so humble in his life, modest in his career and a never forgotten idol to me, lived the life he wanted to life down to his last breath. Watching him evolve this article walks up through some highlights of his career, and also some low points as well. God took away a beautiful actor when he took away this man. He had accomplished alot for a few years and then went into a dry spell and then physically hurt himself as well as the most recent event of his death. From his growing up and dancing to marrying his high school sweetheart and moving out west when his dancing career ended and his movie career took off. Hearing the news and seeing his life on paper, and seeing in my own eyes as I followed him growing up are almost like they are two different people's lives or entities. This nation really did loose one of Anerica's sexiest men even when he was sick, he had the courage of a lion to still pursue his life and think positive even when he knew of the inevitable would one day come.
I cried, he was once one of my favorite actors, next to Mel Gibson and Sean Connery as I grew up, who wouldn't miss seeing that pretty boy face? He was an amazing dancer so much, as to when he danced he poured his heart and soul into the moves, enough to bring tears to your eyes with such great confidence. And then there was the beginning of his acting career, wow that was a long time ago! I remember when red dawn came out, one of the best movies he made followed by another of my favorites, Dirty Dancing, we all wanted a Johhny bad boy back then. The movies that followed were so different and very diverse that it broaden to me his horizons and made him reach harder and try more things and another favorite thing about him.
But, when he gave the speech on national television that he had Pancreatic Cancer, I almost went to my knees, not even the pretty boys can stay healthy forever. I hoped and prayed and wished him on when he chose the lifestyle he lived it took so much heart and soul and courage that a women in my situation would more than likely not have done what he had done, nor live as long as he had! He was all around an amazing man with the highs and lows in life. But, we all have them just in different ways!
Noone will ever be able to replace this beautiful man in life or in death!

Tooth helps restore desperate woman's sight - CNN.com
Tooth helps restore desperate woman's sight - CNN.com
There is this woman that has suffered from blindness since she incurred Stevens-Johnson syndrome . Caused from her body having a reaction to medication or a infection of some sort. it caused her to loose her skin on her entire body by blistering and peeling and then eventually her eyesight. What this story is about is a procedure that the eyesight and tissues have to be so scarred that it blocks vision but at the same time it looks healthy. "The surgical technique modified osteo odonto keratoprosthesis." Corneal scarring also can be caused by chemical injuries or burns. The prcedure that has been performed requires a healthy tooth and bone that were then shaved and sculpted, and a hole was drilled into them to hold a corrective lens. Both were implanted into Thornton's chest and left for several months, allowing the tooth and lens to bond. This was then implanted into her eye.The requirements for the procedure are they must have end-stage ocular surface disease, and must be able to see and localize light," meaning they must be able to describe from what direction light is coming. In addition, "they have to have a healthy mouth and a good tooth. The whole procedure takes many many surgeries and many doctors and dentists but it does work.
This story so caught my attention I love reading of new techniques that give people without hope the very hope and desires to get the ill resolved again, and restore the hope they once had. Since my time on this earth, I have seen the contact lense come into light and throw away contacts, and then lasik to aid and assist the ones that can't see 20/20, see 20/20 for the first time or see it once again, forever leaving the glasses in the droor like a fond memory. Even though this procedure is pretty radical I thought it was; let me find the word, neat as it keeps things simple and pretty basic, and who would guess that this procedure would work with a tooth and part of jawbone? Medical history is made everyday and I hope that one day one I achieve my degree, I will be there making history as well as everybody else.
I tend to think that I have a very big heart when it comes to people. And when it comes to ones not being able to see or are homeless or are sick and dieing I believe that, not meaning to get religious or anything, that God would not put us through it if there was not a lesson to be learned out of it. With that said, he will always get you through it. It's how you react to the situation you learn and live or dwell and hurt with it. I have been places and seen many things in this life and I love learning and hearing of new things like this procedure to let everybody know they ahould never give up hope!
In conclusion life is one big mystery as I see it. Miracles teach us patience and they come little or big you just have to open your eyes to truly see them! I love my life and my kids and I have seen many a pain in my life, but I still chose to see what there is to see and learn and love whenever possible. Life is a learning process we should alltry and savor and embrace!

Police: Body found could be missing Yale student - CNN.com
The story starts as a young girl that was suppose to married this last Sunday was missing for days now. After missing a few days, They started looking closer into her studies at school and working areas as she was a medical student. Among cameras in the medical facility of Yale they found her entering the building; but never exiting. They had done further research and looked into her classmates and workmates. They had a tip as to there being a body in a wall of the medical facility of where she worked, and clothes in the ceiling. They followed the tip and went in and investigated that there was a body in there and clothes where they were told there would be. There wasnt a positive identification but they nevertheless are treating it as a homicide, testing the clothes they also followed the trash and tested the clothes and postitively had identified in a later story it was the missing Yale student.
This story ripped me to the core. I couldn't imagine anybody being throwen away like garbage, they are human beings! Yes there are some out there that are garbage because of the trashy decisions they choose to make in life. But, here is a very young, anbitious, beautiful girl with a bright future that was wasted by ones either jealousy of her marraige and be rejected or some sick sadistic person that needs to be treated like trash. Now with that said as a mother, I can't imagine the animal that could have dont an atrocious act towards a woman such as this. If this were to happen to my kids then we would have a major issue, I would not be able to rest a day til the killer is found and when they do find him, he would not live as I couldnt bare seeing him alive as he took my child....just a happenstance if it were to happen.

Study: Single dose of H1N1 flu vaccine may suffice for adults - CNN.com
Study: Single dose of H1N1 flu vaccine may suffice for adults - CNN.com
To read this story; might give us some type of hope! The swine flu is what this is composed up of. They gave 10 healthy adults in Australia; the 15 mg strain of swine flu and people with healthy immune systems as adults; built an immunity. Wow this is fantastic news to me! Watching the epidemic spread across the world as quick as it did and people going frantic, something positive has finally turned about on this matter.
Just watching the past two and half decades as viruses like Aids and HIV and other diseases come and some go and others advance with cocktail therapies and never can go away because they are deadly, is completely amazing to me. I have seen the invention of certain machines in this existence in medical science that could help us as a world to prolong life if at all capable. But to have a strain to help build an immunity to something that has had this world in a worldly scare is great for all of us as a whole. We take so much for granted, but what if medical technology and testing weren't done how many of us could survive the traumas and illnesses in this world? I want to see my kids grow up and my grandkids born, but sometimes we are arrogant to think that it will all still be there tomm, as in this case with the swine flu and the ones that died to it, they to thought they would watch their love ones grow and their families grow as well but to some it didn't happened and to others this vaccine will give others hope and faith in medical science even though it was in Australia or another country we are going leaps and bounds!

The Extended Chinese Family - Grandparents, Relatives Help Raise Children in China
The Extended Chinese Family - Grandparents, Relatives Help Raise Children in China The story is of a Teenage boy of 17 that was adopted 11 years ago by an american family and he wanted to start looking for his family in China three years ago and finally found them. To me it was a big part of self-discovery for the boy who wanted closure as to what happened to his family and find out where he came from as well.
Lost without a clue as to why he was in an orphanage for the year he was he just wanted answers, The live story aired on CNN on August 27, 2009.
When I first watched the episode on when the family introduced the story was very inspiring that the adoptive mother would put herself out there for three years tryin to aide and support her adoptive son in trying to find his mother and father in China as to find out who he is and help shape his identity. I can understand why he was curious as to who they were and where he came from as he completely forgot as a child of 6. He was partially raised by his uncle as downtown Beijing had strict laws on one child families and that is why he was transferred to live with him and his wife. They suspected that someone had kidnapped him and taken him somewhere else. In finding uncle and aunt brung a sense of solace, they were trying to keep him from being taken away from the family. The reunion of the 17 year old and his parents in China made my heart go out to the parents with their heart and emotions showing on their sleeve. The boy had displaced feelings as he didn't know how to react, which would lead me to think that he was totally confused. And I understand why he and the parents would react they way they did, I would never want to see myself in that type of situation, with my kids or family at all.
The meeting of the families, brung upon a language barrier and neither could communicate as they would need a translater and I think that the bonds of communication would actually be better off said yourself that a translater as the feelings in which you are to be expressing would be void thru translation. He wanted conviction and I think the answers right off as to where he came from and answers to fill in the holes of his past that were there and that need is needed for closure for a past that may have been better off forgotten sometimes. the hardships his parents did could not have been easy, but he would not be there if he hadn't.
My conclusion on this story that he did what he had to to find out what he wanted and the questions they may not have happened to answer may not have a reason as to why they happened and god works in mysterious ways like that. But; furthermore, He can either take it or leave it either way he chooses and how he does it is now his choice. He has been given the gift of finding his parents as to some people in this world does not have that choice. He also has the freedom in the wonderful country of United States to pursue, do and feel what he sees fit as well.
